About the site

This incarnation of Brilliant Corners runs on home-brewed weblog software written in Ruby using Sinatra. Other things used for the weblog are MongoDB and mongomapper for data storage, Haml for layout markup, Sass for stylesheets, rdiscount for Markdown parsing, and Disqus for comments. The source for the weblog app is available for your own modification and use at GitHub: thelonious.

The name, Brilliant Corners, comes from the Thelonious Monk album of the same name. Other than being named after the album, there is no specific meaning behind the name.
