SAN DIEGO FLEXIBLE HOUSING POOL
Launched in October 2020 in partnership with the San Diego Regional Task Force on the Homeless, the San Diego Flexible Housing Pool is a supportive housing program that provides housing location, acquisition support, and tenancy support to ensure long-term housing stability for individuals and families who have experienced homelessness.
Brilliant Corners is the proud operator of the San Diego Flex Pool and is responsible for securing a range of housing options and providing tenancy supports. Working with philanthropic, health, and government partners, the Flex Pool helps people exit homelessness by engaging landlords, matching clients to available units, and providing wrap-around support services to help participants thrive in their new homes.
Working with over 15 referring partners and case management organizations, the San Diego Flex Pool has quickly earned a reputation for being the go-to housing partner in the San Diego area, bringing numerous landlord partners into the program and continuing to increase access to supportive housing placements in the community.
A Place to Call Home
A Range of Housing Options
Brilliant Corners works to secure a broad range of housing options, including individual apartments, blocks of units or entire buildings. Brilliant Corners identifies and secures units county-wide; provides move-in assistance; coordinates with case managers; and assists with landlord relations.
The San Diego Flexible Housing Pool is primarily funded by the Regional Task Force on Homelessness (RTFH), who is also the lead agency of the San Diego Region Continuum of Care. The San Diego Flexible Housing Pool has already housed over 1,200 individuals and families, with a focus on transition-age youth, veterans, seniors, and those with complex health needs.
Wraparound Support
Our person-centered model provides housing retention services to participants to ensure a smooth transition into housing, as well as ensuring they stay housed. This includes facilitating the move-in process, and working with the participant, case manager, and property provider.
After moving in, tenants receive ongoing support from dedicated Brilliant Corners Housing Coordinators during the duration of the lease to ensure positive tenant-landlord relationships and overall lease compliance. Additionally, Case Management services are provided for each tenant for comprehensive wrap-around support
