At Brilliant Corners, we’ve seen amazing things happen when people embrace this Housing First mindset and a commitment to align the right housing and supportive service resources. With public and private partners, we’re building new, scalable supportive housing platforms to rapidly house thousands of formerly homeless people and those at risk of homelessness each year. We’ve also partnered with state and local agencies to create community-based housing for over 1,000 previously institutionalized Californians with developmental disabilities.
We are honored to be part of this collaborative work – meeting each person where they are, advocating for transformative systems change, aligning existing and new resources for better results. We embrace the challenge of scaling supportive housing solutions, confident that together, we can bring about the better world our hearts know is possible.
Sincerely,
William

Amy Cole
Director of Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool
Amy joined Brilliant Corners in 2022, bringing over 20 years in social services, with a focus on housing and homeless services in LA County for the past 14 years. She participated in several of the homeless system’s major initiatives, including the Housing Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) in 2009, the first major rapid re-housing program in LA. In 2012, she managed one of 8 programs contracted with LA County Department of Health Services to provide supportive housing and case management to Health Services patients with complex medical and behavioral health issues who were experiencing homelessness and enrolled in Housing for Health. She helped lead the Registry project that preceded the Coordinated Entry System (CES) in Sunland/Tujunga/North Hollywood and went on to become the first “matcher” for Service Planning Area 2 when CES was piloted in 2013. More recently, she directed the opening of the first State Homekey Project in Los Angeles, which included 40 family units in North Hills in 2020. Additionally, Amy has participated in multiple county-wide strategy and planning groups, as well as special projects targeting high-risk homeless populations and expediting the subsidy housing process and service delivery.

Bob Mills
President
Bob recently retired as partner at Goldfarb & Lipman, where he focused on transactional real estate involving the development and preservation of affordable housing, concentrating on structuring complex transactions involving multiple layers of financing, especially those with some type of federal assistance, including, for example, tax credits, FHA mortgage assistance, and Section 8 rental subsidies. Prior to Goldfarb & Lipman, Bob was an attorney at HUD, participating in numerous loan closings, negotiating the sale of properties from HUD’s multifamily portfolio, and enforcing the federal Fair Housing Act. Bob has also worked as a newspaper reporter in Los Angeles and Australia before abandoning all creative thought processes and attending law school. For fun, he occasionally sports odd facial hair, to the deep embarrassment of his two daughters. When that ceases to provide enjoyment, Bob likes to run, read, and tend to the backvard garden.
