We’re thrilled to join the Grand Opening of the Kohler, alongside partners from SSG, LA County Department of Mental Health, Project 180, and the esteemed leadership of Supervisor Hilda Solis, 1st District of LA County, and Councilmember Ysabel Jurado of the City of Los Angeles’ Council District 14.
Brilliant Corners proudly partnered on the creation of this site through the Capital Improvement Intermediary Program (CIIP), launched in 2017 by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to expand interim housing and support services for the County’s homeless residents. As CIIP’s operator, Brilliant Corners provides a range of construction project management services to scale new interim housing sites, and partners with interim housing providers to develop and construct new interim housing beds across the county.

This site is also made possible through the State of California’s Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) initiative to expand interim housing beds with enhanced supportive services and housing navigation.
The Kohler is especially meaningful to Brilliant Corners, as we have been working in partnership with the county for over a decade to support justice-impacted individuals on their path home through our Breaking Barriers program. We recognize that justice-impacted individuals face unique and steep barriers in accessing safe and stable housing, and that housing is a major factor in preventing recidivism.

We celebrate that the Kohler will now provide that safe landing to justice-impacted individuals, offering tailored support to aid reintegration and reduce recidivism. From personalized case management, expungement support, employment readiness support, and mental health and substance use services, the Kohler will provide the wrap-around support that we know is key to long-term stability and a positive future.
We are honored to be a part of this special project, and we welcome the Kohler’s new residents with open arms.
