Brilliant Corners joined The Long Beach Rescue Mission, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson, and community partners to celebrate the grand opening of Timothy House, a new interim housing site that will serve transition-age youth in the Long Beach community.

Timothy House was constructed as part of Long Beach Rescue Mission’s existing Samaritan House site, and was renovated to accommodate 12 transition-age youth with a focus on providing safe and supportive living conditions.

Brilliant Corners’ Capital Improvement Intermediary Program (CIIP) Team is proud to serve as a partner on this project, providing construction management, project management, and administrative support to this project through its completion.

Timothy House will provide residents with a safe place to stay, communal space, a small courtyard for residents to enjoy, and a place to access a hot meal and resources.

Jeffrey Levine, President & CEO of Long Beach Rescue Mission, shared about his vision for Timothy House: “It’s about dignity. When people walk in, we want them to feel hope.”

LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn shared that Timothy House “represents hope, stability, and the opportunity for a fresh start for transition-age youth.”

Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson reflected that “if we can intervene in a young person’s life during the transition age, you can prevent an entire lifetime of homelessness.”

We’re honored to be part of this wonderful project that will provide lasting support to the Long Beach community.

“It has been an incredible journey working on the Timothy House project. Jeff, representing Timothy House, has been an exceptional partner whose passion for supporting youth in the community is clearly reflected in every aspect of this project. His consistent communication and collaboration with Brilliant Corners have been invaluable, and a key reason the CIIP team is thrilled for this upcoming Ribbon Cutting event. Congratulations to Jeff, the Long Beach Mission, the Long Beach community, and all partners involved on this remarkable accomplishment!” Lester Parayno, CIIP Senior Project Manager, Brilliant Corners

“I’ve truly loved working on Timothy House. It’s been such a pleasure partnering with Jeff Levine, his passion for these young men is inspiring and it’s been a joy to see his vision come to life. This place is going to be such a great staple for the Long Beach community, and I’m just so grateful to have been a part of it”Mary Robinson, CIIP Project Coordinator, Brilliant Corners

About the Capital Improvement Intermediary Program: The Los Angeles County’s Board of Supervisors launched CIIP in 2017 to expand interim housing and support services for the County’s homeless residents, especially chronically homeless individuals and families, transition-age youth, pregnant women, survivors of domestic violence, and adults with severe mental illness. As CIIP’s fiscal operator, Brilliant Corners provides a range of master-leasing, disbursement, and construction project management services to scale new interim housing sites in partnership with the County’s Department of Health Services.
